........Stereopticon' follows a similar theme although the track feels less reverberating and more present - crisp clicks and snaps biting through Moniri's expressive synth-work. Retina.it's interpretation is pulverising and mechanical, steam pistons firing off in all directions between course glitches, and a rugged four to the floor pulse. The tonal elements of the Kaeba original are almost entirely suppressed, making a brief, dampened appearance in the track's closing minutes before cutting sharply back to Retina.it's churning, factory workout........

Déjà échappé de son duo Plaster pour un premier EP remarqué l’an dernier chez Kvitnu, Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri continue d’œuvrer sur le fil d’une techno deep et polyrythmique dont les textures fuligineuses arrondissent les arrêtes mécaniques, un pied sur le dancefloor, l’autre en terrain mouvant et l’esprit tout entier capté par une sombre introspection.

Sismique et abstrait, ténébreux quoique jamais plombé, aventureux mais d’une remarquable efficacité, on reconnaît bien là la patte d’un habitué du label Stroboscopic Artefacts, mention spéciale à la tension crépusculaire et saturée du futuriste Stereopticon auquel l’excellent duo italien Retina.it offre en fin d’EP un lifting de fréquences corrosives et d’ombres contrastées
